Urgent Care Report

November 1st, 2009 (06:42 pm)
exhausted

current mood: exhausted

I do not have an infection and I do not have a fever. Everything is just very swollen, including my ears. I was told to go back on my decongestant and to keep taking ibuprofen every 6ish. I'm taking about 600mg. The decongestant will help with the pressure in my ears and that will hopefully help with the pain. Everything looks as it should, considering. I did manage to eat a few bites of dinner and drink some more milk. I am shaky and wobbly due to lack of food.

Urgent care doesn't hydrate. Funny. You'd think they would.

I go to see my "regular" doctor (the one that did my surgery) at 8:45 tomorrow morning and run by him what the Urgent Car doc told me.

FUCK the narcotics. FUCK THEM FUCK THEM FUCK THEM.

Pain level is...tolerable. A helicopter just flew over my house bound for St. Joe's. I hope everything is all right. There was practically NO ONE at urgent care and it cost a big WHOPPING ZERO dollars. Wow, sometimes I do love my insurance.

Tomorrow will be better. No more spiking pain tonight. Yeah, that was a 10 on the pain charts. A good night's sleep. Pumpkin bread for break fast? Worst Halloween for me on record? Yeah.

cranky

current mood: cranky

I'm in so much pain right now. I could cry, but that hurts as well. I can't swallow without feeling faint. The pain killers they gave me were a JOKE. They do NOTHING. They just fuck you up but don't take the pain away. It feels like I've been shot in both ears. My dad is so unsympathetic. My pain level is at at 10 and I can do nothing about it. I'm dehydrated, low on blood sugar and he says watch TV! I can barely function. I'm shaking. I've just been eating ice. Eating ice cream hurts too much. The cold hurts. Why did I let myself do this? It was getting better yesterday and then the pain just SPIKED back up 10. I'd scream, if I could.

sore

current mood: sore

Well, I'm alive. The Oxycontin really knocks me out, but not completely. It takes a while for it to kick in and doesn't last the 4 hours. But it really helps with the swelling in my nose so that I can breathe though it for a while. That helps when I'm trying to sleep.

I am ITCHY. ALL OVER. WTF? Even after a shower. I itch. Everywhere. My dad is going to get me some benadryll as per doctor's orders. I hope it helps. If not I'll have to change meds or something. I don't have a rash per se - just dry/itchy skin. It's very annoying when trying to sleep. If I can sleep. All the pain meds do is make me dizzy and loopy, but not tired enough to fall sleep or completely take the pain away. It dulls it, which I am grateful for. It just makes me want to stay in bed.

So fare eating lactose free cookies and cream ice cream has been the best cure. Pudding makes my mouth more dry and these Special K protein shakes make me nauseous.

I will be very happy when the feeling that something is stuck in the back of my throat is GONE GONE GONE. I know in the long run it is good.

I was soooo thankful that Paula stayed with me last night. She got me up to take my meds and fed me ice cream and it was a great comfort knowing that someone else was there for you. I think I can convince my dad to stay tonight as well.

Writer's Block: Yes, offense taken

October 25th, 2009 (09:44 pm)

If a friend or relative makes a racist or homophobic remark, do you tend to confront them or let it slide? Are you more likely to confront them if it offends you directly or someone else who seems reluctant to speak up?

Hahahah...oh hell yes. I say, damn, that's not cool. Saying something is "gay" is just not cool. Keep some perspective, please. And, well, if it goes beyond that to just plain stupidity...I will smite thee! (Or is that smote thee?) And banish them to a very special hell-one that is reserved for people who speak at the movie theater.

I'm going to be in Chicago until Sunday afternoon. I will not have any internets. So don't expect me to respond to the previous post anymore. Have a great weekend.

Shopping

October 12th, 2009 (04:10 pm)

I took the plunge today and went SHOPPING. I know, shocking and horrifying! Mostly for the wedding I'm going to and for interviews.

I got some black dress pants (had none and two will need to be shortened), a black dress shirt, a couple of shirts and some purple tights. I also picked up a new pair of tennis shoes at DSW - gray and purple. Yes, purple is so hard for me to turn down. But my old tennis shoes were just a smidgen to small and these, so far, seem to fit fine. My pinky toe should be happier. I didn't find any dress shoes or work shoes so I'll go to MAST'S shoes and drop a few pretty pennies. I don't know where else to go for no slick shoes. And all the girl dress shoes are crap. And guy dress shoes are nice but too big!

Work tomorrow at 10 for only a few hours. I have to border 14 cookies or so. I'm going out apple picking with Paula at 1pm. IT BETTER NOT RAIN! I hope I can talk to my boss and put in my two week notice. It's just not safe there and not worth it.

I put in an application at the Humane Society. I got an "OUT OF OFFICE" reply. That does not bode well. *sighs*

current song: Green Day - Christian's Inferno

Woke up to find not internets or tv. BWAH? Called Comcast, got someone to call out. They call to say, I'll be there in 10-15. I check tv...it WORKS! How did that happen? The guy came anyways, check all the connections and asked, "Did your power go out this morning?" I said, "No, what do you mean?" He said, "Well, driving here I saw DTE and a couple of our trucks out on the other side of here," Interesting. And no one else in my neighbourhood complained of their internets or tv working. Guess I'm just lucky like that.

My digital scale needs new batteries because it cannot measure SMALL amounts of spices. Like .25 oz or .5 oz. I swear it was off. So when baking today I made pumpkin bread two ways - one with minimum spice and one with MAX spice, one plain and one with white chocolate chips. Let's see how they taste. It's fun to mess around with recipes.

It's raining...again.

Green Day's "21st Century Breakdown" album is AMAZING.

Writer's Block: Concert mania

October 6th, 2009 (09:36 am)

What band are you dying to see live in concert that you've never seen before? Would you travel to a different city or state just to see them?
